Cole County Health Department is collaborating with the Central Missouri community to provide education and support for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. WeCan! is a national program designed for families and communities to help children maintain a healthy weight. This program focuses on three important behaviors: improved food choices, increased physical activity and reduced screen time. WeCan! Offers parents and family’s tips and fun activities to encourage healthy eating, increase physical fitness, and reduce sedentary or screen time. It also offers community groups and health professionals resources to implement programs and fun activities for parents and youth in communities around the country. |

We Can! - Visit the We Can! website for tools, fun activities, and more to help encourage healthy eating, increased physical activity, and reduced time sitting in front of the screen (TV or computer). Great for the entire family! Be Fit Family (BFF) Healthy Lifestyle Program - BFF is an eight week program that gives parents and their child a healthy foundation for lifetime weight management with a focus on establishing healthy eating and physical activity habits. The program is taught by area physical therapists, personal trainers, and registered dieticians. This program begins Tuesday, September 7th 2010. Register HERE.
