What immunizations do I or my child need?

  • All of the primary series vaccines should be given before your child is 2 years old. Children need booster vaccines after their 4th birthday and are required before starting kindergarten. Booster shots will be needed again at 11-12 years of age. To find out what immunizations you need as an adult, go to CDC Vaccines and Immunizations and answer a few short questions.

  • All Cole County residents and visitors are eligible for immunization services. Some immunizations cost a minimal fee.

What are the benefits of receiving immunizations?

  • Keeping your immunizations and those of your child up-to-date provide you maximum protection against many diseases that can be life threatening or at the very least keep you out of work or your child out of school for several days. Diseases can also cause a large expense for diagnosis and treatment as compared to the cost of vaccine.

How do I make an appointment?

  • Call 573-636-2181 and ask if you need to make an appointment. Appointments are needed for children under 8 years of age and immigration immunizations. Older children and adults can “walkin” during normal business hours. Children under the age of 19 must have their shot record with them. Mom, dad or an adult with written permission must accompany a child under the age of 18 to give consent.
