What kind of inspections are performed?
- Routine inspections are conducted on facilities such as child care facilities, schools, restaurants, taverns, grocery and convenient stores, caterers, and temporary food stands, that are located in Cole County, but outside the city limits of Jefferson City.
- Food warehouses and manufacturers, and commercial lodging establishments located anywhere within Cole County.
How often are these inspections performed?
- Depending on the type of facility, the inspections are conducted 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 18 months. Some maybe conducted sooner if a complaint is received.
- Also inspections or investigations are conducted on the following but are not limited to, common source disease outbreaks such as food borne or water borne illness.
- Infestations of insects or rodents in commercial settings, and possible rabies exposures.
