Lodging Inspection Program

The Lodging Inspection Program is conducted under contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), therefore the guidelines for inspecting these establishments are set by DHSS. The rules governing the inspections of lodging establishments cover the areas of general sanitation, housekeeping, life safety, fire safety, swimming pools, spas, plumbing, heating, cooling, water, and sewage. Lodging establishments are to receive an approved inspection report from the local health department before being issued a license. All lodging establishments are to operate with a license issued by DHSS and the licensing year is from October 1 to September 30.
