- The Maternal Child Health Program offers services to ensure the health and well being of Cole County citizens with special emphasis on women of childbearing age, teens and children.
Who may be eligible for Maternal Child Health services?
- All Cole County residents are eligible.
What are the benefits and services provided by Maternal Child Health services?
- Early Entry into Prenatal Care: Women of childbearing age are encouraged to enter prenatal care by their 13th week of pregnancy to ensure a healthy outcome for both her and her baby.
- Prevention of suicide in the 15 to 19 year age group: Teens and adults are educated in the early recognition and prevention of teen suicide.
- Lead Poisoning Prevention: Citizens of Cole County are educated in lead poisoning prevention and treatment.
