What services does the Cole County Health Department offer?
- CCHD offers pap smear screenings, infection checks, clinical breast exams, birth control/contraceptive counseling and reproductive health education for women with Medicaid or to women with no health insurance.
- Show Me Healthy Women
- Every woman over the age of 18 (or earlier if sexually active) should have a yearly exam that includes a pap smear, pelvic exam and clinical breast exam. A pap smear is a sampling of the cells on a woman’s cervix. It is designed to detect cell changes that can progress to cervical cancer.
- Fees for services are assessed based on household income according to a sliding fee scale. You will be responsible for some portion of the office visit and for the cost of the birthcontrol option you choose. CCHD will see out of county clients, but a higher fee is attached to the visit (see sliding fee scale chart D).
- Yes, the Cole County Health Department offers well woman exams by appointment only on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-3:45 p.m.
What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?
- Current tax return or pay stub for last 2 weeks
- Proof of dependents (social security cards, tax returns or immunization record for each dependent)
- Photo ID
- Cash as form of payment
If you present to our clinic without above documentation you will be charged the full price of the office visit charge.
